David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.
The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
